Carr & Ferrell LLP to offer Complimentary Patent Applications at CES 2015
For over two decades Carr & Ferrell LLP has worked with companies and individuals to protect, leverage and grow their intellectual property assets. As part of its broader effort to support continued innovation and entrepreneurship, Carr & Ferrell is proud to announce that it will be offering free provisional patent applications to the attendees of the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
To participate, attendees of CES are asked to visit booth #70555, January 6 – 9, 2015 in the Sands Expo Center and bring notes describing their invention along with a drawing. Carr & Ferrell will then prepare a summary of the invention, write one patent claim and complete and file all necessary paperwork to ensure the client is “Patent Pending” by the close of CES.
A provisional patent application filing offers a number of significant advantages to the inventor and entrepreneur. One benefit is it establishes a filing date, which will be an important factor should a dispute arise over invention ownership. Once a patent application is filed, it immediately enables commercial promotion of the invention, protecting it from being stolen or exploited by others.
Whether interested in having Carr & Ferrell prepare and file your patent application for you, or just eager to learn more about this area of technology protection, they will also be giving away books at CES authored by nationally-recognized patent strategist John Ferrell. Provisional Patents: The 90-Minute Guide to Filing Your Own Application details each element of the patent specification, as well as explains the forms necessary for preserving a priority date with the USPTO.
