Silver Peak Systems Announces Multiple New Patents
Carr & Ferrell is pleased to congratulate Silver Peak Systems, which has announced that the USPTO awarded the company multiple patents for accelerating data movement over distance. Carr & Ferrell confirmed the issue of the new patents, which cover software that enables businesses to simplify and lower the costs for critical IT initiatives such as disaster recovery, data center virtualization and cloud computing.
The patents granted to the eight-year-old software company include:
- US Patent #8,171,238: “Identification of Data Stored in Memory”
- US Patent #8,095,774: “Pre-Fetching Data into a Memory”
- US Patent #7,948,921: “Automatic Network Optimization”
- US Patent #7,945,736: “Dynamic Load Management of Network Memory”
In a press release issued by the company, CTO and founder David Hughes said of the achievement:
“These patents reinforce our ongoing commitment to innovation and delivering the highest-performance, most-adaptive software solutions for speeding data movement over distance. The requirements for wide area network (WAN) optimization are evolving with increased adoption of virtualization, dynamic workloads, and shrinking physical real-estate in today’s data centers. This prompts some customers to seek software alternatives to legacy custom hardware-based WAN optimization appliances. Silver Peak VXOA software can be downloaded and deployed quickly anywhere in the world to move critical data where it needs to be.”
