Hasan is a patent attorney in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Carr & Ferrell LLP and has experience in patent prosecution, preparing and filing patent applications, patentability searches and opinions, and developing patent portfolios.
Hasan has experience in several technology areas including artificial intelligence, neural networks, software programming, hardware, medical devices, and IOT. Prior to practicing law in the United States, Hasan was a policy advisor at the Ministry of Justice in New Zealand, working to lead an all government effort to modernize the court system and enable the use of technology in trials, implementing Anti-Money Laundering laws with national and international corporations and organizations, conducted reviews on the application of the Bill of Rights Act and advocated for policies to protect the privacy of New Zealand citizens in a digital age.
His passion for technology led him to Silicon Valley where he now practices as a patent attorney. In partnership with human rights organizations, Hasan supervises students from California’s top law firms to provide legal advocacy for refugees and displaced people. Hasan is fluent in Arabic and Kurdish.
