John Hutar is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group of Carr & Ferrell and has experience in many aspects of corporate law. John advises emerging companies, founders, and investors on venture capital financings, corporate inversions, and commercial transactions, including OEM and Reseller Relationships. In addition to negotiating and drafting employee benefit plans, John is also skilled in employment and consulting agreements, license agreements, privacy policies, terms of service, and master service agreements.
John also has experience in entertainment matters and has drafted talent, key crew, financing, and licensing agreements as counsel to independent film producers.
Prior to joining Carr & Ferrell, John worked for the Silicon Valley office of a national law firm handling corporate and entertainment matters. Before law school, John worked for an early-stage startup company.
John graduated cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a concentration in intellectual property law. While in law school, John was a senior articles editor on the Hastings Business Law Journal and participated in the Lefkowitz Moot Court competition. John also has a B.A. in International Relations, and Political Theory & Constitutional Democracy from the James Madison College of Public Affairs at Michigan State University.
