Aylin is Senior Counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Carr & Ferrell. Aylin specializes in intellectual property law, with an emphasis on domestic and international trademark clearance, trademark & copyright prosecution, counseling and enforcement. Aylin’s experience includes intellectual property pre-litigation disputes, litigation, licensing, and commercial contracts.
Aylin counsels businesses across a wide range of industries, from emerging growth companies to large companies, in best management practices for their trademark portfolios. Aylin’s counseling also includes international brand creation, advertising, marketing and licensing strategies and programs to increase the protectability and registrability of the trademarks during and post-adoption process. She specializes in federal trademark prosecution including representing clients in appeals, oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Aylin also manages clients’ international trademark portfolios, filing trademark applications under the Madrid Protocol and coordinating with counsel around the world. Having worked with many companies of all sizes and in various industries, Aylin identifies the individual business needs of her clients and unique aspects of their products and uses a client-specific approach to capture the full value of their brands and secure the best protection for their intellectual property rights.
Aylin’s clients include, but not limited to, companies in the fields of computer software and hardware, mobile communications, automobiles, industrial machines, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, banking, consumer electronics, home appliances, apparel, cosmetics, food and beverages.
Prior to joining Carr & Ferrell, Aylin worked as an associate for another Silicon Valley law firm, specializing in Intellectual Property matters. While living in Ankara, Turkey, Aylin worked at a law firm as well as a communications firm.
Aylin is fluent in Turkish and her background in Turkey has proven to be very useful for those who are planning to travel there. Her memo regarding “Turkey trip tips” has been very popular among her colleagues and clients. Aylin is also a Rotary member and enjoys working on fundraising events and public awareness activities to improve the lives and education of underprivileged children in developing countries.
