Barry A. Carr, age 62, founding partner and co-chairman of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2021, at his home in Portola Valley, California. Barry helped establish Carr & Ferrell in 1992, and was well-recognized as a pillar in the legal community and advisor to venture-backed companies and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and beyond. He was named by San Jose Magazine as one of Silicon Valley’s top corporate lawyers for five consecutive years and by Bay Area Lawyer Magazine as one of the top three venture capital lawyers in the Bay Area. Barry will be deeply missed and his family has published a tribute to his life on Palo Alto Online.
